Kane County Forest Preserve uses EZ Dock to solve it's boardwalk issue. The district's new conservation area in Pingree Grove has a large wetland that divides the property in two. The trouble they encountered was this wetland turns into a dry land several times a year. They came to Team REIL and EZ Dock to find a solution to their problem. Team REIL proposed an EZ Dock system to cross the lake. The durability of the floating dock allows it to 'sit' on the ground if necessary, and with the modification of rodent screens to deter muskrats from nesting in the dock, providing a continuous boardwalk to connect the two sites. The district had concerns
about aesthetics and blocking animals from swimming to either side of the wetland. Team REIL solved the aesthetic issue by offer a recycled plastic decking option to give the dock an appearance of a typical wood boardwalk. Team REIL then custom designed an aluminum bridge section to be used to provide gaps in the boardwalk to allow flow and animal access to the other side. With the custom decking option the bridge is seamless and only visible from the water.

Although budget constraints only allow a portion of this system to be built the ease of adding to EZ Dock allows the district to add on whenever they have funding.
